Biomass distric heating in Loški Potok. In 2017 the distric heating system that was managed by the Wooden Cooperative Loški Potok was established. The municipality was the initiator of the project. Members of cooperative are local forest owners or forester (it has 21 members). The Cooperative was supplying heat to 14 users (in 2022), some are municipal public buildings, and some are private households. The Cooperative is also growing its scope on other renewable energy systems such as solar power plant and wind energy.

Wooden cooperative Loški Potok was established in 2017, the initiative came form the Municipality, since the start cooperative has grown and is now included in other renewable projects in the municipality. Municipality gave the concession to the cooperative for 15 years. The cooperative manages distric heating system as well as supplying the wood chips

The cooperative is not only repsonsible for the distric heating system, they also have a project with solar panels power plant, as well as they are trying to build a wind farm , with power of 1 MW.

Cooperative has 21 members (owners), they are mainyl owners of local forests, forester or coming from other wodden industry

The whole investment was around 800 000 EUR; subsidy from the Ministry (EU cohesion funds) 518 000 EUR, 270 000 EUR credit and own share 12 000 EUR

The cooperative has 15 years concession that was given by the Municipality, after that the Cooperative will transffer the wholle system (including selling of heat) to the Municipality at no cost. The Cooperative is selling the heat to the users. In 2022 the income from selling heat were 87 372, 51 EUR and the costs (including wood chips, electricity, maintainance, incurance, internet) were 40 915, 85 EUR, so the profit was around 46 500 EUR. The profit is in general not shared or can only be shared under specific circumstances in line with the law of social enterprises.

They have build distric heating system on wodden biomass that in 2022 supplied 14 users with heat; some of them were municipality owned and municipal buildings, some were private households, in the same object they also build wodden biomass storage, in 2022 they used 1800 m3 "wood chips"

Boiler Frohling Turbomat 500, nominal power 500 kW, Fuel: wood chips G50, W35, Power modulation 30-100% ; In 2022 1199 MWh of heat was produced which was supplied to 14 users; this year they will build another boiler for operating in transitional period, Röling Turbomat SPS 250, nominal power 250 kW, woodchips G50, W35
